Our programmes
Three ways to bring order to what a family holds.
— ✦ —Each programme is designed for a different need and a different point in the process. Some families need all three. Others need only one. We describe each honestly so you can decide.

How Heritageford approaches this work
— ✦ —We begin by listening
No two families are in the same situation. We take time to understand what the family holds, what they hope for, and what constraints they are working within before recommending anything.
We work to a clear scope
Each programme has defined deliverables. We do not allow scope to drift during the work, and we do not offer services that fall outside our expertise. The family knows what they are receiving.
We deliver and step back
At the end of each programme, the deliverable belongs entirely to the family. We do not retain copies or build ongoing dependencies. The work is theirs to use as they see fit.
Programme one
Bookshelf Archive Programme
— ✦ —An archival programme for families who would like the books and printed materials of an older relative catalogued and lightly conserved. Each book is examined, dusted, photographed, and entered into a typed catalogue with title, author, edition, condition note, and a short paragraph the family may wish to add. The work is carried out across several home visits. The deliverable is a printed bound catalogue and a digital archive. The programme is archival and descriptive; we do not address regulated matters.
- Each item individually examined, dusted, and photographed
- Typed catalogue entry with title, author, edition, condition note
- Space for a family note in each entry
- Printed bound catalogue delivered to the family
- Organised digital archive file provided
Programme steps
- 01 Initial telephone or email discussion
- 02 Brief assessment visit, scope agreed
- 03 Two to four cataloguing visits at the family home

Programme two
Plain-English Heritage Reading Card
— ✦ —A printed reading card written for adults, describing in plain English the general kinds of paperwork families commonly handle when sorting through the records of an older relative — household papers, photographs, written letters, personal identification documents. The card describes the kinds of materials and the general principle of labelled inventories. It does not address any individual family's situation and does not advise on regulated matters. Sold as an educational resource.
- Describes common document categories in plain English
- Explains the purpose of labelled inventories
- Suitable for adults with no prior experience
- Printed on quality card for long-term reference
- Available by collection or post
"The card is best used before any decisions are made about a collection. It gives adults a language for what they are looking at, which makes the work feel less daunting."

Programme three
Small-Group Inventory Workshop
— ✦ —A half-day workshop for adults who would like a calm space and a printed workbook in which to put their own household records into order. Each participant is given a labelled folder, an inventory template, and a quiet seat at a large table. The facilitator helps with sorting and labelling and answers questions about the structure of the folder. The session is administrative and educational; no advice on the content of the documents is given.
- Half-day session (approximately 9.00 am to 1.00 pm)
- Small groups of four to six participants
- Printed workbook and labelled folder included
- Facilitator assistance throughout
- Held at our Jalan Petaling premises

Our standards
Shared across all programmes
— ✦ —Privacy
All information shared with us is treated in strict confidence. We do not retain or share any family information after the engagement ends.
Accuracy
Every written entry is reviewed before delivery. We correct errors promptly if the family identifies any after receiving the catalogue.
Honesty
We describe what each programme includes and what it does not. We do not oversell or expand scope without discussion.
Responsiveness
Enquiries are answered within one working day. During an active programme, the family has a direct line to the person carrying out the work.
